This is one of those kitchen trash cans with a lid that pops open when you step on it. One time i stepped on it a little too hard and the lid bonked against the wall and made this great sound that i then had to record. Stereo 24bit w/ a sony pcm-d50.

Front channels of a 4ch-surround field recording of the interior of a german local commuter train, completely without human voices, heading from the towns of naumburg to weissenfels. The train is in full motion at the beginning of the recording, then stops, with squealing brakes and all, then starts up again and reaches full velocity. The recording was done with a zoom h2, the microphones (front) set to 90° dispersion.

A rifle being dropped on the floor 3 times. Very metallic-y sounding drop sound with tons of bass. This one was sort of a happy accident. I was recording some ak foley with an airsoft gun i had when i accidentally dropped it. The sound it made turned out so good that i ended up using it for this. This sound is a recorded sound from a hammer tapping the metal, i modified it using some effects :1-normalize2-change the pitch ( from a#/bb to c)3-change the tempo with percentage=-90. 000. The final sound gives an impression of something that slips over the barriers.

This is a recording of children playing in the large playground at the luxembourg gardens in paris, france. The recording was made from the east side of the playground, next to an attraction that allows kids to hang from a sort of harness and slide down a rail. The metallic clink you hear periodically is the sound of the runners on this gadget banging into each other as kids jump off of them. This was recorded from my windowsill facing onto a tarmac driveway in august 2012. There is the occasional tinkling sound of raindrops hitting a metal gate, some traffic noise, the occasional bit of thunder, and some shouts of people getting wet. At the end, raindrops start falling onto the recorder. This is fairly heavy rain by oxford standards; we probably get something like this only a couple of times a year. This fall turned into hail a bit later. Recorded with a marantz pmd661.

This is the sound of my 2-year old son jumping up and down in his crib, which kind of resembles the sound of. . . A baby being made if you know what i mean. I placed a roland r-05 digital recorder under the crib while he bounced.

I was playing around with my sampler fx today and decided to rig up my electric guitar. I use a fender american special stratocaster, hooked up to an akai s2000 sampler with on-board fx - distortion and guitar metal applied in real time, the signal then sent through to amplitube fx rack on my computer with vintage crunch setting. This is a strum of the lower e open. I recorded a number of stabs and thought this clip might come in useful.

From under a concrete bridge, the sound of cars driving at a fairly high speed over the decking. Unlike some similar bridges, this one does not produce any loose metal clanking at the joints and there is very little flange to the sound as the cars pass.
